Francisco joined Project Angel Food in the newly created position of Associate Director of Human Resources on August 9, 2021, at a time of unprecedented growth of the organization. Bringing with him a remarkably positive disposition and a decade and a half of human resources expertise to Project Angel Food, Francisco oversees all aspects of Human Resources. He is principally responsible for all payroll, benefits administration, staff development, recruitment, morale and diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts. He also acts as the liaison for Project Angel Food’s board of directors.
Francisco was born in East Los Angeles and moved to Mexico at the age of 14, where he later received his degree in Business Administration and Management from Universidad de Colima. He is certified in both PHR (Professional in Human Resources) and SHRM-CP (Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional). He has developed Human Resources departments in private and public companies, mostly in the food industry.
It has been a longtime dream of Francisco to utilize his skills and experience to give back to others and he feels that Project Angel Food affords him the opportunity to have a positive impact in the community. He and his wife Nayeli have six children, ages 2-15, and two dogs. When he’s not working with Project Angel Food you can find him with his kids either supporting them in their activities or just spending quality family time together. He is always looking to grow personally and professionally, loves cooking, woodworking, being outdoors, and enjoying Shakespeare in the park.
