In the military, the motto "no one left behind" is a sacred promise. At Project Angel Food, it's our guiding principle. We live it every day for the 7,157 critically ill people we serve annually, and it rings especially true for veterans like Dave.
Dave never imagined he'd see 75. Drafted into the Army in 1967 at just 19, he survived Vietnam but still carries the pain of friends lost too young. "We lost so much in these wars," he reflects quietly. Homecoming brought invisible wounds—PTSD, diabetes, heart disease—and recently, an emergency triple bypass.
Facing recovery alone, Dave felt hopeless until Project Angel Food entered his life. Weekly deliveries of medically tailored meals, designed specifically for his heart condition and diabetes, became his lifeline. "What you do, you keep people alive," Dave shares gratefully.
Please donate today so seriously ill veterans know you will not leave them behind.
