Michael Lombardo is the President of Global Television at Entertainment One (eOne), where he oversees eOne’s Scripted and Unscripted television departments across businesses in the US, the UK and Canada. Shows include Yellowjackets on Showtime, The Recruit on Netflix, The Rookie and The Rookie: Feds on ABC, and Cruel Summer on Freeform/Hulu. eOne is a global independent studio for Television and Film. Hasbro acquired the company in 2019.
Prior to eOne, Lombardo served as President, Programming, at Home Box Office for 12 years. During his tenure at HBO, Lombardo was responsible for overseeing all of HBO’s and Cinemax’s programming initiatives including HBO Films, HBO Sports, HBO Documentaries & Family and HBO Entertainment. He also oversaw the Marketing, Business Affairs, Legal, Scheduling, Research and Production Departments. Under Lombardo, HBO launched some of its most acclaimed and successful programs including Game of Thrones, True Blood, Boardwalk Empire, The Newsroom, Silicon Valley, Girls, Veep, Insecure, Looking, True Detective, The Jinx, The Night Of, The Pacific and Last Week Tonight With John Oliver. Lombardo also shepherded the development and production of Westworld as well as the award-winning limited series Big Little Lies.
After exiting HBO, Lombardo executive produced the critically acclaimed noir thriller Dare Me, based on Megan Abbott's acclaimed novel, for USA Network. He was also an executive producer on the HBO limited series Our Boys which premiered on that service in September 2019. He was an executive producer on the documentary limited series The Defiant Ones, directed by Allen Hughes, and is currently in production on the documentary series God Save Texas for HBO alongside Lawrence Wright, Alex Gibney and Richard Linklater.
Lombardo currently serves on the boards of The Los Angeles LGBT Center, Project Angel Food and The Saban Community Clinic. He was appointed a member of the National Council on the Arts by President Biden in 2022, and to the Board of Trustees at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts by President Obama in 2014.
He has an AB degree from Cornell University and JD from the University of California at Berkeley. Lombardo resides in Los Angeles with his husband and two children.
