LOS ANGELES (Nov. 28, 2024) — On Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 28, 2024, Project Angel Food brought together celebrities, county supervisors, and 150 dedicated volunteers at their temporary kitchen in Lincoln Heights to prepare and deliver more than 1,500 traditional turkey meals to critically ill clients across Los Angeles County.
The heartwarming Thanksgiving at Project Angel Food event saw notable figures such as “Weird Al” Yankovic (musician and comedian), Loni Love (comedian and TV host), Yvette Nicole Brown (actress, "Community"), Natalie Morales (journalist and “The Talk” host), and Mary McCormack (actress, "The West Wing") rolling up their sleeves to give back to the community.

Richard Ayoub expressed his gratitude by saying, “This generous grant from The Chuck Lorre Family Foundation is a testament to the power of community and compassion. It will significantly aid us in continuing our mission to nourish and uplift those in need across Los Angeles County.”
Also in attendance were Los Angeles County Supervisors Lindsey Horvath and Kathryn Barger, who participated in food preparation and helped hand out meals to volunteer drivers.

In addition to serving its clients and their caregivers, Project Angel Food extended their reach by providing Thanksgiving meals for 500 individuals at PATH, an organization dedicated to ending homelessness.
About Project Angel Food
Project Angel Food is dedicated to delivering nutritious meals to 2,700 critically ill individuals across Los Angeles County, providing more than 1.5 million medically tailored meals each year. Founded in 1989 by Marianne Williamson, the organization has prepared and delivered more than 18 million meals in its 35-year history. With a mission to feed and nourish the sick, Project Angel Food ensures that no one is too sick to shop or cook for themselves.
Due to ongoing construction of their permanent home in Hollywood, Project Angel Food is operating from a temporary kitchen at Amped Kitchens in Lincoln Heights. The new 30,000-square-foot, two-building The Chuck Lorre Family Foundation Campus — a $51.5 million project — is set to be completed in 2027. Phase one, which includes a complete reimagining of the existing building and kitchen, will reopen next year.
