Bill joined Project Angel Food in November 2021 as Director of Special Projects, responsible for exploring the possibilities of a much-needed expansion of our facilities, building a major Donor Program and a Legacy Program. He is now Campaign Director at Project Angel Food and one of the top fundraising professionals in the country; for the last two years he served as Chief Development Officer for GLAAD in New York City, and before that he led the development department of the Los Angeles LGBT Center, including management of their $70 Million dollar capital campaign.
Having volunteered in Project Angel Food’s kitchen 15 years ago, this is a homecoming for Bill, both to Los Angeles and to our organization. “I’m thrilled to be joining Richard and the team this critical moment of Project Angel Food’s history as we honor our legacy of love by building a future that allows us to support our critically ill men, women and children with Medically Tailored Meals today, tomorrow, and into the future.”
Bill was destined for a life of service, having spent four years as a Roman Catholic Priest in St. Paul Minnesota in the 1980s, following seminary at St. Paul Seminary/St. John’s College, and St. Mary’s College/IHM Seminary where he received his BA in Phycology/Classics/Philosophy. He then spent sixteen successful years at Corporate Sales Executive with Apple Computer, Inc. before deciding to return to his roots of giving back and philanthropy. Bill has an impressive history in development, serving as Director of Development at the Stonewall Community Foundation, Chief Development Officer at L.A. Gay &Lesbian Center, Chief Development Officer of GLAAD, and now brings that wealth of experience and relationships to Project Angel Food for the next phase of our evolution.
Project Angel Food as doubled the number of people we feed in the last five years and is now preparing and delivering over one million meals each year. These record-setting numbers are reflective of the tremendous need for Project Angel Food in helping our community serve an ever-growing population of critically ill, many of whom would not eat if it wasn’t for Project Angel Food. Bill plays a critical role as we lead with love to meet the need.
